WEIRDASS Ham-ateur Night feat Vir Das' comedy rock band ALIEN CHUTNEY at Opus (Palace Cross Road), Oct 30th, 8:30 pm onwards:

Weirdass Productions, the production house of renowned stand-up comedian Vir Das, organized India’s first ever Weirdass Ham-ateur. The basic aim of these Weirdass Ham-ateur Nights is to give an ideal platform for upcoming talents in the field of comedy right from stand up to sketch comedy, from musical to slap stick comedy.

ALIEN CHUTNEY - Its India’s first ‘comedy rock band’. Vir Das has teamed up with musician Kaizad Gherda and producer Kabir Singh to create a unique music album that combines hilarious lyrics and song concepts with sophisticated music composition and vocal performance. Their brand of comedy rock can best be described as ‘Sting meets BB King meets Jack Black meets five bottles of whiskey meets in a dark alley meets with a horrible accident’.

Kingfisher ABANDONFRIDAY with 'SWARATHMA' live at Opus (Palace Cross Road), Oct 16th, 9 pm onwards:

SWARATHMA - The Bangalore based contemporary Indian folk-fusion band that released its debut album with EMI-Virgin in December 2008, with the backing of Radio City. Swarathma is the sound of today's India - rooted in India and its values and traditions yet not afraid to look beyond the 21st Century to adopt the best of the West. The sound is contemporary Indian folk, with a fusion of rock, Carnatic and jazz. Most of all, the stage act is unforgettable!
