There is karaoke and then there is kroaknight. There are singers and then is a KROAKING. I am still speechless.
What i thought would be an extension of sunday nights at opus turned out to be a jaw dropping outstanding night of talent.
Not just that, but the ambience was amazing too. I felt truly privileged to be part of it all.

Sri T.N.Ramesh: Ghatam

is the senior most student of Vidwan Sri T.A.S.Mani. He has been honoured B-high grade in both mridangam and ghatam. He was the first rank holder for the state in Vidwat.He has also performed with eminent aritists like Sri Balamuralikrishna, N.Ramani,Maharajpuram Santhanam, D.K.Pattamal, R.A.Ramamani and many more.He has played in National network of AIR and Doordarshan many a times.Many of his cassettes and CD's have been realesed.

Karthik Mani (Karthik Subramanya): Percussionist / Drummer

Karthik Mani hails from a family of musicians. He has performed in Various Prestigious festivals in India, China, Spain, Germany, USA, Canada, and Australia. He got appreciations from the musicians and the audience there. He has performed with musicians like Louis banks, Karl peters, Keith Peters, Amith Heri,Ranjit Barot, Ramesh Shotham,, Mike Herting, Carnatic maestro Mandolin U. Sreenivas and Carnatic flute Maestro N. Ramani. He has performed shows all over India with various renowned Carnatic and Hindustani musicians.


Recently he performed at the “Century of song” festival with the African singer Mory Kante, Tunisian singer Dhafer Yousuf and Carnatic Vocalist Mrs Ramamani. In the same festival he also played with Afro-Cuban percussionist Mokhtar Samba and Japanese guitarist Paul Shigihara.


In
Switzerland he did a project with the band “Zoom” with Lucas Niggli, Trombonist Nils Wogram and Philip Shaufberger. He has also toured with the renowned percussion group “The Family of Percussion” with Peter Giger.

B C Manjunath: konnakol

born in 1976 is a talented young artiste who has many achievements in the sphere of music. Manjunath's creative impulses have flowered in various forms, from the classical to fusion. In order to reinforce these faculties, he also learned to recite Konnakkol, giving full _expression to his talent through a wide repertoire of compositions. His performances reveal his command over the Laya those lines under his distinct style. He has accompanied many greats from India and Abroad. To name a few a few are Sangeetha Kalaratna, Sri R R Keshavamurthy, Sangeetha Kalaratna Sri H P Ramachar, Mysore M Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore M Manjunath (known as Mysore brothers).

He has shared the stage along some international legends like Kani karaka (Turkish Sufi singer), Lucio Dalla (Italian Pop music icon), Robin Eubanks (Trombone genius from USA), Akram Khan (UK’s renowned Kathak and contemporary dancer) Bibiena Quintet (a famous wind quintet from Italy) and the list go on.

Some composers he worked with are Rafael Reina, Riccardo Nova, members of Bhedam and organisations like Conservatorium of Amsterdam, The Carnatic lab festival 2001, 2003 2005 and 2007, Zagreb Music Biennale 2003, North Sea Jazz festival 2003, Fabrica Italy, United Colors of Benetton, Amsterdam percussion group, Santander Percussion festival-Spain, Perth International festival-Perth, Roma Europe Festival 2004-06, Milano Musica at John Cage Festival 2007, Akram Khan Dance Company, Ictus Ensemble from Belgium, Quintetto Bibiena from Italy, Het Nederlands Fluit Orkest.

Manjunath has performed in some prestigious venues like Theatre de la Ville – Paris, Queen Elizabeth Hall-London, Sydney Opera House-Sydney, Jazz at Lincoln Centre-New York, La Fenice—Venice, Tropen Museum-Amsterdam Muziek Gebouw—Amsterdam and Lille Opera House--France.

Manjunath has been a regular member of many percussion ensembles. He has many cassettes and CD’s to his credit like Nadalayavrusti of Layamilana from Mookambika talavadya sangeetha kalashale, Laya Vinyasa of Percussive Arts Centre, Bangalore, Rikshaw Chase from Bhedam, Slick Road with Timucin Sahin, Turkish Guitar player and more.

Vidwan B K Chandramouli : khanjira

is a veteran mridanga artiste and has great achievements to his credit in the field of music.

Sri Chandramouli has accompanied almost all the stalwarts of carnatic musician and out of the state for the last 40 years. To name a few are Chintalapalli Venkatrao, Chitalapalli Ramachandra Rao, Chitalapalli Suryanarayana Rao, Chintalapalli Krishnamurthy, Chintalapalli Venkatramaiah, Chintalapalli Chandrashekar, Dr. R K Srikantan, Titte Krishna Iyengar, B Devendrappa, R R Keshavamurthy, B V Raman, B V Lakshman, D K Jayaraman, P Bhuvaneswaraiah, T R Mahalingam, T R Subramaniam, C M Maduranath, Veena Doraiswamy Iyengar, R K Srinivasamurthy, Gotu vadyam Narayana Iyengar, Dr. N Ramani, Dr. L Subramaniam, K B Sundarambal, Dr. Kadri Gopalnath, Bombay Sisters and the list goes on.

He is also an expert in ‘Khanjari’ and ‘Konnakkol’.

Sri Chandramouli is a B High grade artiste in All India Radio. He has been nominated as Asthana Vidwan of Sri Vyasaraja math, T Narsipur, Mysore district by Sri Vidyapayonidhi Teertha Mahaswamy and has been conferred the title Sruthi Laya Samvadaka. His titles include Laya Vadya Rathna by Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Trust®, Magadi Road, Bangalore, Kalaradhana Shree by Aradhana Trust, Bangalore, Kalabhushana by Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha where he was chosen as president of the conference, Sir M Visveswaraya Award by Bharatha Ratna Sir M Visveswaraya Industrial Pratistana trust ®, Talavadya Shiromani by Natechwara Institute, Switzerland. He was awarded Karnataka Kalasree by Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy, Government of Karnataka.

Sri Chandramouli does not fall behind when it comes to organising. He himself runs an institute called Sri Mookambika Talavadya Sangeetha Kalashale where he has trained hundreds of students for past 26 years.

Sri Chandramouli has traveled to a lot of countries in past 23 years. To name some are Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, UK, Canada, USA, and Holland, Austria.

L.Bhimachar of Bangalore, is a Morching Artist of international repute.

Bhimachar is one of the very few who can ably to perform on Morching in Carnatic style of South India Music. Since his debut in 1952, Bhimachar has been an active Morching player. He has accompanied many eminent music personalities like T.Chowdiah, P.Bhuvaneshwariah, Lalgudi Jayaraman, R.R.Keshavamurhy, R.K.Srikantan, D.K.Jayaraman, Bombay Sisters, T.V.Shankaranarayan, Nedanuri Krishnamurthy, A.K.C.Natarajan, Kadri Gopalnath, Mandolin U Srinivas and others.

He is a performing artist of AIR (B-High) has also given a number of TV Programmes. He has to his credit many cassette recording, two L.P. records with flute maestro T.R.Mahalingam and P.Bhuvaneshwariah. In 1984 he visited European Countries to play for percussion ensemble.

Bhimachar has been honoured with a number of titles and honours, name a few like “LAYA VADYA PRAVEENA”, “MORCHING TARANG BHUSHANA”, “MORCHING EMPEROR”, “LAYAVADYA KALANIDHI”, “LAYAVADYA KALARATNA”, “KARNATAKA KALA SHREE” [by Karnataka Sangeetha Nruthya Academy], “Ananya Puraskar” [by Ananya GML cultural academy], “LAYA VADYA KALA BHUSHANA” [by Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha], Bangalore Gayana Samaja honoured him at its 23rd Sangeetha Sammelana in 1994, Karnataka Gana Kala Parishat honoured him at its Musicians 31st Conference, “Purandara Vittala Prashasthi” by Sri Purandara Seva Samithi, Mulubagilu, “Sangatya Puraskar” . He was also awarded the “Excellence-91” Award by international peace Foundation. Palani Subramanya Pillai award from percussive Arts Centre, Bangalore, with the title “LAYAKALA NIPUNA”. He presided over the musicians’ 38th conference held by Karnataka Ganakala Parishath and received the title “GANAKALA BHUSHANA

Prakash Sontakke : Slide Guitar

Hindustani vocalist, Hidustani style Hawaain guitar player and composer, Prakash has been at the forefront of fusion music playing in bangalore. His versatile playing from Hindustani style to western is a treat to watch.

Recipient of the Aryabhatta and Ganayogi Panchakshari Gawai Awards, Prakash has many recordings and CD releases to his credit, apart from being a senior artiste in Radio and T.V. Prakash has been a Judge for various music competitions.

T.A.S Mani: Mridangam

is an Internationally known Percussion Ensemble which has travelled extensively all over the world. It believes in Promoting the Traditional , folk and Western percussion Instruments. It combines an exuberant rhythmic drive with soaring Ecstatic lyricism. Rhythmic cycles unfold in a spellbinding crescendo, releasing the increasingly technical virtuosity of each percussionist.
