Kingfisher ABANDONFRIDAY with 'SWARATHMA' live at Opus (Palace Cross Road), Oct 16th, 9 pm onwards:

SWARATHMA - The Bangalore based contemporary Indian folk-fusion band that released its debut album with EMI-Virgin in December 2008, with the backing of Radio City. Swarathma is the sound of today's India - rooted in India and its values and traditions yet not afraid to look beyond the 21st Century to adopt the best of the West. The sound is contemporary Indian folk, with a fusion of rock, Carnatic and jazz. Most of all, the stage act is unforgettable! The name ‘Indian Blue’ invokes the pride of its roots and its origin. Indian classical music forms the primary inspiration and the framework, with Western classical blues, jazz and gypsy.

The C-Street Band has been performing for the past 5-6 years. This 5-piece band has some of the city's respected jazz musicians. They also cover many genres like jazz, blues, country, reggae, soft rock, rock and roll and pop.

Playing some of the grooviest tunes from across the decades! So put on your dancing shoes and be there ..
